Ohio Cold Cases

Let's check out some of Ohio's cold cases. I never like to see a crime go cold so it's always important to keep the crimes in the spotlight! There are several cold cases that I was reviewing, the ones I'm gonna talk about can be found on Ohio's Attorney General Mike DeWine's page.

Let's start out by talking about Sharon Blackburn. Sharon left her home on February 24th, 1989 telling her family she was going out with some friends for the evening and would be home later that night. The next morning when she did not return home her family became worried. She was last seen at Georgia's Friendly Tavern on Parsons Avenue in Columbus, Ohio around 11 pm. Four days later on February 28th, 1989, a man out for a morning walk spotted a body of a young girl in a ditch at the end of Vause Road, near Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base in southern Franklin County. It was Sharon. She had been beaten to death. Investigators are attempting to locate anyone who had contact with Sharon before her death or anyone who may have information regarding her murder. Please contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office with any information.

Next I would like to talk about Thomas Bryant. This is a local case to my area. Thomas Bryant 37 years old was last seen in Bellevue, Ohio on March 4th, 1996. His body was found behind 359 Hamilton between three semitrailers arranged in a u-shape on March 6th, 1996. Family and friends of Thomas canvassed the neighborhood where Mr. Bryant's vehicle was discovered by authorities on March 5th, 1996. The cause of death resulted from multiple gunshot wounds. There is no explanation as to why the victim ended up in Toledo, Ohio. Please contact the Toledo, Ohio police department with any information regarding Mr. Bryant's death.

Next case, comes from Pike County, Ohio. The case of Jennifer Marie Burgette. Incident location 124 Hopper Road, Piketon, Ohio. On December 9th, 2006 Jennifer Burgette and Curtis Francis were found murdered in their home. Both have been shot during the overnight hours. The Pike County Sherriff's Office followed up on numerous leads and completed a thorough investigation, however, not enough information was obtained to solve this homicide. Please contact the Pike County Sherriff's Office/ Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation with any information about these homicides.
