Luis Garavito--MUST READ

Well lets talk about this guy. Luis also known as La Bestia is a Columbian rapist and serial killer. In 1999 he admitted to the rape, torture, and murder of 147 young boys. His victims, based on the locations of skeletons listed on maps that he drew in prison, could eventually exceed 300. He continues to confess to more murders. He has been dubbed the "world's worst serial killer".

His victims were clearly identified by their age, gender, and social status. He targeted boys who were either homeless, peasants, or orphaned. He profiled boys between the ages of 6 to 16. He would approach his victims either on crowded streets or alone on the countryside. He would lure the children away by bribing them with small gifts like money, candy , or odd jobs. He often disguised himself as a priest, farmer, homeless man, street vendor, drug dealer, elderly man, and a gambler. Once he gained the child's trust he would walk the boy until they were tired and easy to handle. By this time their hands were the first to be tied up. He would then torture, rape, and decapitate his victims. The bodies of the children all had bite marks and signs of anal penetration; bottles of lubricant were found along with empty liquor bottles. Most of the bodies showed signs of prolonged torture.

Beginning in 1992 boys began disappearing rapidly from the streets of Columbia. Due to the decades long civil war many of the children were homeless or orphaned. For years these murders went unnoticed because many of the victims had no police reports filed on their disappearance. Clusters of bodies began popping up all over Columbia. The criminal justice department did not take much notice until 1997, when mass graves were being discovered.

In February of 1998 two naked bodies were found laying next to each other on a hill, outside of Genoa, Columbia. The next day, only meters away, another child's body was found. All three bodies were tied at the hands. Their necks were severely cut. The murder weapon was found in the same area with a note. The note had an address written on it; this led them to Garavito's girlfriend. She told police that she had not seen him in months, however, she handed over items that he had left in her possession. The bag included pictures of young boys, detailed journals of his murders, tally marks of his victims, and bills. This evidence led police to Garavito but he residence was vacant. He was later picked up by law enforcement with charges of attempted rape. A homeless man was close enough to observe the struggle between Garavito and a child, he rescued the child.

Garavito confessed to murdering 140 children, and was charged with killing 172 altogether throughout Columbia. He was found guilty on 138 of the 172 charges, the others are ongoing. Although the maximum sentence for murder in Columbia multiplied by 138 comes to 1,853 years and 9 days, Columbian law limits imprisonment to 40 years, but because Garavito helped police find the bodies, his sentence was reduced to 22 years!!!!

22 Years for killing 138 children, that is completely unheard of. His should of been put to death immediately! Luis Garavito is currently spending his time in a undisclosed Columbian prison. Garavito organized an arrangement with the police when he was worried about his well-being. Police cooperation followed by good behavior has insured his safety within the prison walls. He is held separate from other prisoners because it is feared he would be killed immediately (Yes here in AMERICA you would be killed immediately, and also would of been given the death sentence..which you deserve). He is paranoid of being poisioned, therefore he only takes drinks given to him by people that he trusts. His guards are on very good terms with him because he is relaxed, positive, and respectful towards them. He will be released in the year 2021!!!!!----That is all a major crock of shit lol sorry..this guy should be dead! I'm sure that if he murdered that many children, he is gonna do it again when he is released.

Here is a photo of Luis Garavito..if your ever in Columbia keep your children close!
