Natalee Ann Holloway was a teenager that made international news after she vanished on May 30th, 2005 while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba. When Natalee disappeared she lived in Mountain Brook, Alabama. She graduated high school on May 24th, 2005, just days before her trip.
Details into her disappearance- Natalie was scheduled to fly home on May 30th, but failed to appear for her flight. She was last seen by her classmates outside of Carlo's n Charlie's, a restaurant and night club in Oranjestad, in a car with local residents Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. When questioned the three men said they dropped Natalee off at her hotel and denied knowing what became of her. Investigations into Van Der Sloot revealed that he was arrested twice on the suspicion of involvement in her disappearance and the Kalpoes were arrested three time. Due to lack of evidence, the three suspects were released each time without being charged with a crime.
In 2008 footage of Joran Van Der Sloot was found, he was under the influence of marijuana in the video and claimed that Natalee died on the morning of May 30th, 2005, and that friend had disposed of her body. He later denied that what he said was true, and in an interview he said that he had sold Natalee into slavery.
To this day Natalee's disappearance has not been solved. I do think that police are pretty confident that Joran Van Der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers are involved.
Natalee is 5 ft 4 inches tall and weighed 110 pounds at the time of her disappearance. She was declared dead in absentia on January 12th, 2012.
